What is customer cohort analysis?

Customer cohort analysis is a tool which lets app developers track and study user behavior over time. A ‘cohort’ is a group of users who perform a certain sequence of events within a particular time frame – for example, users who triggered an app launch on the same day.

App developers study a cohort’s behavior, looking at how key app metrics such as LTV and app retention change overtime. By analyzing user behavior, app developers can more easily make data-driven decisions on their in-app advertising and user engagement strategies.
